Have you ever felt like a mistake? Have you felt like the woman in the image above? Maybe someone fed you that lie causing you to feel like a failure. If so, you are not alone. I cannot count the number of times (over my 30 plus years in ministry discipling the hurting) that a woman told me she was a mistake. Have you ever felt like that? Instead, embrace God’s Word.

Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands.

–Psalm 119:73, (niv1984).

The truth is you are not a mistake. Yet, there have been many times in my life when I felt like a total failure, and I could have easily embraced the lie that I was a mistake. But the truth of the matter is you and I are not a mistake. The Bible says that God’s hands made us and formed us. Therefore, it’s absolutely impossible for you and me to be a mistake, because God does not make mistakes. Instead, what we’re really struggling with when we consider ourselves a mistake is that we’ve embraced a lie someone spewed at us.

So what does this mean to you personally?

The enemy of your soul wants you to hang on to that lie. In fact, he wants you to make decisions based on that lie so that your light as a believer will be dim and unproductive. But instead—embrace truth.

If you want to learn more about life-changing, tangible ways to embrace the truth that you are not a mistake and overcome the enemy concerning this issue, pray, embrace the truth, dig deeper in God’s Word (more verses listed below), and if you haven’t already click on the audio file above and listen to the podcast what are you waiting for? It’s only 7 minutes long and goes deeper than this post.

PRAYER

Dear Lord,

Help me to let go of the lies that I’ve believed about myself and help me to embrace Your truth. Your hands made me and formed me in love. I am not a mistake!

In Jesus’ name, amen.

EMBRACE TRUTH

I am not a mistake.
