Do you ever wonder why people make such poor choices in their lives? I must admit, when I watch someone walk down the road to destruction, it frustrates me beyond words. I want to stop them and help them. I especially aspire to reach out and teach them how to make wiser choices for their lives.

Perhaps you too have experienced this frustration. Or perhaps you yourself struggle with making decisions based upon your feelings and emotions which you know are not wise and actually end up causing you heartbreak. If so, do you desire to make wiser choices?

Well, let me tell you about a new blog and podcast series titled “Embrace Truth”, which the Lord placed upon my heart for you. Yes, you!

I have been discipling brokenhearted people since 1993 in both the United States and Eastern Europe. During the many years that God has used me in ministry, I have discovered two important aspects of the Christian life that we often don’t fully understand or apply to our lives.

  • First, for the believer, you will learn throughout this series about your new identity in Christ which has the power to set you free from the bondage of sin, and help you become all that you are created to be.
  • The second is that you and I have an enemy of our souls who desires to destroy us. If we don’t have a balanced, biblical understanding of who he is and how he operates, we will never walk in victory.

When we understand these two aspects and apply the truth that God reveals to us about them, we can begin to live up to our true calling and become all that God created us to be.

That’s my heart’s desire for you.

My prayer is that you would not only learn the truth of who you are in Christ but also learn how to apply this truth to your life in a tangible way. In addition, I pray you would have a balance biblical view of how the enemy operates so that you can walk in victory.

Ephesians 6:12 teaches,

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, [and] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (nkjv).

So you see, our struggle isn’t against our friends, our neighbors, our coworkers, or even against our loved ones but against the four distinct demonic entities listed in the above verse with Satan as their spearhead. There really is a spiritual realm that we cannot see which impacts you and me daily.

Psalm 60:12 says,

With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies (niv1984).

Isn’t that so cool! With God we will gain the victory! But we need to know His Word and how to apply it to our lives.

These two passages set the foundation for this blog and podcast series, which includes the amazing true story of a beautiful, young woman that we saved from being trafficked in Eastern Europe. She was the inspiration for my book Clothed in Righteousness and even now, many, many, many years later, the inspiration for this blog and podcast series that I created for you. Just click on the audio file at the beginning of this blog to hear her story.

HERE IS A PEEK INTO HER STORY

When I walked away from the café that day, my heart was torn in two. I felt blessed that this young woman had chosen to break off the relationship, while at the same time I was broken to see how hopeless she felt. She was looking for love and acceptance in all the wrong places. She had bought into the lie that true fulfillment and contentment can be found just around the corner. She didn’t understand the truth of who God was and the depths to which He loved her. She didn’t realize that He desired her to come to Him, accept Him and learn from Him so she could walk in victory.

As I walked down those uneven cobblestone streets, God began to put my book—now known as Clothed in Righteousness—on my heart. I rushed home and began to write. I knew that this young woman, and so many others like her, needed to know the truth about their identity in Christ. They needed to know that there is a battle—a spiritual battle—taking place all around them because of who God has called them to be. They needed to recognize the value of their lives so they could become all that God created them to be.[i]

PRAYER

Dear Lord,

Help me to embrace Your truth to become all that You created me to be. Let me grasp what you want to teach me. Give me wisdom, knowledge and understanding concerning both who I am in You and how the enemy operates so that I can walk in victory.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

EMBRACE TRUTH

I am able to walk in victory!
