Do you desire to go deeper in your relationship with God? Do you feel as if something is holding you back? Do you see other Christians with a vibrant Christian walk and want what they have? Do you wonder, what’s missing? If any of these questions resonated click on the audio file above to learn tangible ways to enter into the Holy of Holies and sit unveiled in the presence of God so that you can hear His still small voice whispering to the depths of your heart.
And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the spirit.
–2 Corinthians 3:18
Kay Smith, in her study Dwelling in the Holy of Holies, states:
There are three types of believers in regard to where they live spiritually.”[i]
And as mentioned in the Go in Peace Leader’s Manual:
We can draw this picture of the three types of believers by relating them to the Tabernacle. Basically, the Tabernacle had three parts: (1) the outer court, (2) the Holy Place, and (3) the Holy of Holies. The Holy of Holies was the place where God dwelt.”[ii]
Which brings us to an important question that must not be overlooked:
Where have you been dwelling in regards to your relationship with God?
THE TABERNACLE
Below are the points that were made in the Go in Peace Leader’s Manual concerning the tabernacle. Put a checkmark next to the one which would best describe your relationship with God. Are you ready?
- Outer Court Believer–You are saved, but that’s it! You have received the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross for you. You are washed clean from your sins, but you are missing out on all that God has for you.
- Holy Place Believer–You spend time reading God’s Word and praying. However, you are still missing the most important aspect of your relationship with God: intimacy. Because of this, there is no lasting contentment in your life. You continue to run after this or that to find satisfaction and pleasure. You don’t look to God to be your all and all. And you allow sin (even the sin hidden in the depths of your heart) to break your fellowship with Him.
- Holy of Holies Believer–You desire to know God intimately. You realize that sin breaks fellowship with God, and because of this, you search your heart daily to make sure that there is no offensive way in you. You desire to be all that God created you to be. You have purpose, meaning, lasting peace and contentment in your life.[iii]
Which are you? Is this where you desire to be? If this resonated with you, and you’d like tangible ways to go deeper in your relationship with God, and/or you haven’t yet listened to the Embrace Truth Podcast episode click on the audio file above to learn so much more. You won’t be disappointed!
PRAYER
Dear Lord,
I want to go deeper with You. Draw me into Your presence, Lord. Cleanse me from all my iniquities. Fill me with Your Spirit. Unveil my face so that I can reflect Your glory to all around me. Heal me. Mold me. Use me. May I become all that You created me to be.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
