Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

There have been times in my life when I felt unworthy, as if I didn’t measure up. Can you relate?
When we feel this way, it’s usually because our perspective is on ourselves and on our own self-worth and not on Christ and who we are in Him.
So read the above passage in Luke one more time. Slow down and really think about it.
There are so many great truths that you can learn from these two power-packed verses. You are worth more than many sparrows. God has not forgotten you. His Word encourages you not to be afraid. Many times, fear creeps in when we have our eyes on ourselves and the situation around us and not on the promises of God and His Word.
Here is another supercool truth contained within the verses. He knows the numbers of the strands of hair on your head. That’s mind-blowing to me.
However, when we feel unworthy, we are focused on feelings and not on truth. I say it all the time: feelings are fickle. They change moment by moment, don’t they?

PRAYER
Dear Lord,
In and of myself I know that I am unworthy of Your love, Your grace, or Your mercy. But in You, and You alone, I find my worth. Help me to embrace this truth and, more importantly, walk in it.
