Do you desire to reflect the Lord’s glory to those around you? Do you wish that you were contiguous for the Lord? Do you desire that people would be drawn to Christ in you and want what you have? If so, read on or listen to the audio file above to learn practical ways to live your life in such a way as to demonstrate a faith worth catching.
Second Corinthians 3:18 says:
And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
—NIV1984
In a previous blog post titled Do You Desire to Go Deeper with God, I shared about a powerful message I once heard Kay Smith teach that impacted my life. The overall theme in that message was that there are three types of believers based on their closeness to the Lord—those who dwell in the outer court, holy place, or the Holy of Holies. This message encouraged believers to enter the Holy of Holies. (If you didn’t get a chance to enjoy that message, I’ll have a link to it below. And if you did listen to the Embrace Truth episode, you know what I’m talking about.)
Since that prior message encouraged believers to enter the Holy of Holies in their relationship with God, let’s discuss four tangible ways to accomplish this so that you and I can become contiguous for the Lord.
FOUR POINTS
- Draw closer to God by spending time daily with Him (see James 4:8).
- Purify your heart (see Isaiah 59:1–2; Psalm 139:23–24).
- Let go and let God! As God reveals issues, grievances, and disappointments that need to be given to Him, do it! Don’t hold on to them any longer. Admit your sin to yourself (you aren’t fooling God) and confess it to Him to be set free (see Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 1:9).
- Repent by changing your ways (see Matthew 3:8–10).
As you take these four steps, you will remove the veil between you and God. How? Simple—by keeping a short account with Him. That’s the key. And this is why Psalms 139:23–24 needs to become a way of life.
The companion Embrace Truth episode goes much, much, much deeper, so if you want to learn more click on the audio file above.
NEVER FORGET
Never forget that because of who Christ is—the Great I Am, the Ultimate Sacrifice, and the Redeemer—the veil tore in two from top to bottom. This signified God’s desire for you and me to enter a much, much, much deeper relationship with Him.
Because of who you are in Christ—you are able to enter in, be unveiled, and thus reflect His glory to those around you. Better yet, He desires to meet with you in the Holy of Holies so that He can whisper His words of love as well as His marching orders for your life. As you walk in His will, your contagious faith will shine brightly for all to see.
Does it get any better than that? Of course not! So what are you waiting for? Embrace the truth listed below. Oh, and I’ve added a link below to one of my favorite songs—Take Me In (to the Holy of Holies) by Kutless.
EMBRACE TRUTH
- I am able to enter in!
- I am unveiled!
- I am able to reflect His glory!
PRAYER
Dear Lord,
I want to be contiguous for You! Let me hunger and thirst for You. Draw me in to the Holy of Holies. Quicken my heart to want to be right with You. As I sit at Your feet and lay down everything unpleasing to You, unveil my face so that I can reflect Your glory to those around me. Use me, Lord. Have me be contiguous for You.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
