Lindsey preparing for Christmas Fellowship
We had a great turnout for our annual Women’s Christmas Fellowship at the Truth and Hope Foundation.
The challenge to the women at the end of the message, which was totally from the Lord since it wasn’t in my notes, was: What’s their gift to Jesus this Christmas? As we looked at the true meaning of Christmas and Lindsey challenged the ladies to keep Jesus the focus this season, the ultimate ending was since God gave us the greatest gift of all in Christ Jesus and we spend so much time and energy figuring out gifts for everyone else—are we overlooking the One who truly deserves a gift from us?
Since Jesus already knows what my gift to Him is this Christmas I can share it with you. My gift to Him this season was a year-long labor of love in the re-writing and revision of the Go in Peace! materials. (We will be posting a blog post about this soon!) Have you thought what your gift to Him is to be? We ask our children or our loved ones what they want for Christmas. Have you taken the time to ask Jesus what He would like from you for this Christmas? God gave us life as a gift. He then offered His Son as the greatest gift for all mankind. And He offers each one of us the gift of salvation through the accepting of His Son? But since this season is really all about Jesus Christ, and not all about the stuff we run around and stress over, have you even taken the time to consider what He wants from your life this holiday season?
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.” —Matthew 2:1-2
