A Bit of Our Hearts

Let me share a bit of Keith’s and my heart with you. It has always been our desire to encourage and equip other believers wherever God sends us and one of those places, as many of you know, is Eastern Europe.

However, it is expensive to do ministry abroad and especially expensive to run a foundation in a foreign country. In view of this challenge, we desire to be like the apostle Paul. He received the support he needed to do God’s Work through two means. He received financial gifts from individuals and churches who desired to be a part of God’s work (see Philippians 4:10-20) and he worked a trade. Paul was a tent-maker (see Acts 18:3). Although Keith works in the construction industry, it is our desire that he could retire from this field so that we can work fulltime in ministry, in both the United States and where ever God sends us. In addition to this, God has given me the gift of teaching, which besides using this gift at Bible studies, seminars and retreats I love to use this gift by writing books and curriculums.

For this reason, and after much prayer, we started the business Sunflower Press as a means to self-publish some of my books. And after learning the ins and outs of publishing a couple of books in Bulgarian we discovered two things—the cost effectiveness of publishing in Bulgaria (therefore, helping to provide a lower retail price and a greater profit per book sale to help further the ministry) and by using a Bulgarian Christian print company we help to provide jobs for Bulgarian Christians (an important issue since so many Christians are leaving Bulgaria to find work abroad).

With all this said, we are excited to announce the release of the updated and expanded edition of Go in Peace! I wrote the original version in 1999. And since then, I pray, I have become a better writer. Best yet, it has two new chapters and was professionally edited.

Our target release date is October 15, 2011. Retail price is $13.95.
